DESCRIPTION:Almost 40 years after the discovery\, cuprate high-Te supercond
uctors are still eluding definitive understanding of their peculiar behavi
or\, largely because of the deep entwining of charge\, spin and lattice de
grees of freedom. Resonant inelastic X-ray scattering (RIXS) has provided
significant advances and contributed to reshaping the phase diagram of cup
rates by probing multiple excitations\, such as spin waves\, charge fluctu
 ations and phonons.
